Yes, you heard it here 1st !!! "The McRib is back, so reports Bestselling Cookbook author Daniel Bellino Zwicke, a Lover of not just Pasta, Burgers, Tacos and Steaks, but this bestselling cookbook author absolutely adores The McRib. He Loves it !!!!
Daniel says his "Love Affair" with The McRib goes back to 1989, and the 1st time he bit into one of these elusive tasty treats, "The McRib" .. He was instantly smitten, and bummed out a couple moths later when McDonalds, cruel people that they are, took it away. Yes they took it away. Off the menu at each and everyone of its thousands of McDonalds restaurants all over America and around the Globe. "Oh cruel people you are." Daniel says. "Why? Why such cruelness to take away my beloved McRib, a sandwich I love just about as much as any.
"It's so tasty. You get us Hooked and then you take it away. Such cruelness," Daniel cries. Why Oh Why do Such a Thing" ? "You take it away. All I can do is cry, and dream of the day you'll return once again. Even if just a month or two. I'll take it.It's better than nothing at all.
Maybe McDonalds is doing people a favour. If it was available all the time, it wouldn't be so special. People might be a little tired of it, and it would lose its allure and mystique. Yes, I think that is certain. It's a game now I guess. McDonalds likes playing this game.
The countdown is on for McRib fans.
The The McRib Sandwich is coming back to McDonald’s nationwide for a limited time next month.
"It's back," says cookbook author Daniel Bellino Zwicke, a Lover of "The McRib" since 1989, when he had his first McRib Sandwich at the McDonalds on West 57th Street in New York City. Daniel says, that at the time he was The Chef at Corrado Restaurant on 6th Avenue nearby to that McDonalds. Corrado's was a high-end Italian Restaurant, and though Daniel could eat all kinds of Italian Goodies, like his famed Bolognese Sauce, working doubles some days, he needed to get away from the restaurant for a half hour or so, in order to break up the day. And so he'd bop over to McDonalds and get himself a McRib.
WHAT is a McRIB
The McRib is a Barbecue-Flavored Pork Sandwich that's periodically sold at McDonald's. It's become a cult favorite due to its limited-time appearances and the element of surprise that comes with not knowing when it will return.
Made from pork, water, salt, dextrose and — have your taste buds identified this ingredient? — rosemary extract, the McRib is a pork patty, shaped to resemble a "Rack of Ribs." It's served on a bun with Barbecue Sauce, Pickles and Onions.
The sandwich first became available nationwide in 1982 after it made its debut in Kansas City, Kansas in 1981. Credited with its invention: McDonald's executive chef Rene Arend, who also created Chicken McNuggets in 1979, thanks to developments in restructured meat for the military made by University of Nebraska professor Roger Mandigo.

Last night on a segment of Thought for Food, comedian Stephen Colbert weighed in on the supposed photo of a frozen McDonald's McRib sandwich that went viral last month. Colbert has expressed his enthusiasm for the McRib before, and Colbert continues to stand by the faux-scarce novelty sandwich saying, "There's nothing wrong with the McRib, just because it appears to made out of sickly E.T." Colbert goes on to explain that eating a McRib — the "great American mystery" — even counts as exercising since it happens to share an ingredient with yoga mats (azodicarbonamide) before coming to the conclusion that ultimately he is a "firm believer that the best food raises more questions than it answers." In the video below, Colbert also addresses the FDA "foodstapo's" plan to get rid of a pillar of America's "Judeo-Crisco" values, trans fats.
