Heart Shaped Cookie Recipe for VALENTINES DAY

ITALIAN BUTTER COOKIES

Italian butter cookies are delicious, iced with dark chocolate and decorated with pistachio granules, candied cherries, jam and dried coconut. These Italian butter cookies are made using the classic ‘whipped shortbread’ technique. The butter is whipped until creamy and fluffy and then combined with the other ingredients. This type of shortcrust pastry makes the biscuits crumbly and they melt in your mouth with every bite! These biscuits are really delicious and will appeal to the whole family, and in a box they make a lovely gift idea. They can also be made with lactose-free butter or margarine in the same quantities as classic butter for those who are lactose intolerant.

RECIPE

INGREDIENTS :

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ¾ cup sugar
  •  Pinch salt
  • 2 sticks chilled unsalted butter, cut into bits
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk, approximately

Ingredients For Decorations:

Dark Chocolate, Pistachios, Sprinkles, Candied CHerries, and Rasberry Jam

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, cornstarch, sugar and salt in a food processor, and pulse once or twice. Add butter, and pulse 10 or 20 times, until butter and flour are well combined. Add vanilla and egg and pulse 3 or 4 times.
  2. Add about half the milk and pulse 2 or 3 times. Add the remaining milk a little at a time, pulsing once or twice after each addition, until the dough holds together in a sticky mass.
  3. Remove the dough from the machine to one or more bowls. Make cookies as described in Step 3, or make any of the variations below.
  4. To make cookies, drop rounded teaspoons of dough (you can make the cookies larger or smaller, if you like) onto a nonstick baking sheet, a sheet lined with parchment paper or a lightly buttered sheet.
  5. If you want flat cookies, press the balls down a bit with your fingers or the back of a spatula or wooden spoon.
  6. Bake 11 minutes, or until the cookies are done as you like them. Cool on a rack, then store, if necessary, in a covered container.

Best Mealoaf Recipe Ever

DANNY'S FAMOUS

OLD FASHION MEATLOAF

OLD FASHIONED MEATLOAF

Nothing beats a good old meatloaf, and that’s exactly what we’ve got here, a good old fashion American Meatloaf, great for dinner one night and sandwiches the next day.

INGREDIENTS :

8-ounces of Button Mushrooms, washed roughly chop & sauté for 6 minute with the onions a & garlic …

1 medium Onion, peeled and diced fine

2 cloves Garlic, peeled and minced fine

1 ½  pounds fresh Ground Beef

1 Egg

½ cup Seasoned Bread Crumbs

¼ teaspoon Salt & ½ teaspoon Black Pepper

6 Tablespoons Tomato Ketchup

3 Tablespoons chopped Fresh Parsley (Optional)

GLAZE :

8 tablespoons Ketchup, 1 /12 Brown Sugar

1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard

After you cook the Mushrooms & onions, set aside and let cool completely, about 15 minutes.

Place all the remaining ingredients, not including ingredients for the glaze into a large mixing bowl. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly with your hands.

Pre-Heat your oven to 350 degrees.

Grease a Loaf Pan with vegetable oil or butter. Place ground beef mixture in loaf-pan and press meat down, then bang the loaf pan a couple times to prevent air spaces.

Mix the 8 tbs. Ketchup, Mustard and Brown Sugar together and brush over the top of the meatloaf.

Place the meatloaf in the oven and bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

After about 1 ¼ hours, remove Meatloaf from oven and let cool on counter for about 15 minutes. Remove from pan.

Cut Meatloaf into 1 ½ to 2” slices and serve with potato, vegetable or salad.

Two Women Running on a Beach

PICASSO

1922

The rounded monumental figures of Picasso's  neo-Classical period of the early 1920s is known as Two Women Running on the Beach. This Neo-Classicism originally applies to the late eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century revival of Classical motifs, subjects and decorations, with the inspiration coming from the 1748 excavations of Pompeii and writings of the German archaeologist, Winckelmann. Picasso visited Pompeii and some Italian museums of Classical art in 1917, and their influence began to assert itself in this post-war series of colossal figures. A general reaction against the pre-war excesses and violent origins of Cubism and Expressionism saw a popular desire in art for the order, rationalized structure and humanity represented by this eighteenth-century movement.

The vivid blues and the flowing hair here are anchored in the elongated brown limbs, contorted yet supple. There's a sense of fullness that makes you feel that this is how life must be lived - and war must be abandoned.

It's a known fact that the women in Picasso's paintings are the women who inhabited his life at various times. His works are littered with references to artist model Amelie Lang, Eva Gouel, ballerina Olga Khokhlova, Marie-Thérèse Walter, surrealist photographer Dora Maar, art student Françoise Gilot, Genevieve Laporte and Jacqueline Roque. They gave of themselves to his art and his work is revealing of their personalities and the kind of relationship he had with each.
